"Human Faces" is the title of the new album by Sinfonia de Carnaval.

Sinfonia de Carnaval is Anna Lang and Alois Eberl: cello, trombone, accordion, percussion, electronics and voices.
Their sound moves effortlessly between bowed and percussive cello, sung and breath-driven trombone, beatboxing, stomp box grooves, virtuoso improvisation and refined arrangements — a borderless blend they call sinfonic art pop.
Internationally acclaimed, the duo has toured across Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia, was nominated for the BAWAG P.S.K. Next Generation Award 2015, selected for NASOM 2018/19, received FOCUS ACT 2019 funding, and represented Austria at jazzahead! 2024 in Bremen. After Sweeping Dragon on Preiser Records, their third album Human Faces will be released in spring 2025 on Neuklang/Bauer Studios.

press reviews
The music is clear and distinct. “Human Faces” reads the depths of the faces of people and animals. Moments become sound portraits. Scenes of nature become sound paintings. The power and elemental force, but also the tenderness and vulnerability of nature inspired the award-winning duo to create new Sinfonia de Carnaval - sound stories. The colorful energy and expressiveness of painted art were clearly the inspiration here. The unique Sinfonia de Carnaval color palette is immersed generously, enjoyably and without limits. The sound fantasies of Anna Lang and Alois Eberl are sometimes packaged in brute orchestral epics or, quite simply, in intimate dialogues. “Two are a symphony!” (Radio Ö1)
